Those implicated in Gutpa leaks “step forward to clear their names” – Mkhize

The African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer-General Zweli Mkhize challenged those who were implicated in the leaked Gupta emails to  “step forward to clear their names. He was speaking at the OR Tambo memorial lecture in Katlehong East of Johannesburg.

“The leadership is engaging so that we can restore the unity of the alliance so that all structures in the alliance work together and in particular to make sure that we build a united ANC.

“These emails that have come out and all the statements we make in the media are a huge embarrassment and therefor as the ANC we want to make sure that we get to the bottom of this particular issue. But I think it is also important that we say to ourselves those whose names are being raised in the emails we expect that they will step forward to clear their names and make sure that they make themselves available in that commission of inquiry,” Zweli Mkhize said.

“We must have a committee that dismantles all the factions and root out all the rouge behaviour in the ANC. Factions and divisions are perpetrated by access to resources and the interests of those who want to abuse the power of authority to which they have been elevated. Factions act as a Berlin wall to rotate those who want to continue with maladministration, irregularities and corruption.”
