Senzo Meyiwa was shot at Kelly Khumalo’s house

Senzo Meyiwa was shot at Kelly Khumalo‘s house during an alleged robbery which was allegedly botched. Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and captain was shot through the chest  when two men entered Kelly Khumalo‘s house in Vosloorus, Gauteng in a bid to rob it. Google+

Senzo-MeyiwaTwo men entered Kelly Khumalo‘s house a third assailant waited outsi0de, they demanded money, cellphones and other valuables – this is according to the provincial Community Safety official Sizakele Nkosi-Malubane. 

Senzo Meyiwa moved to protect Kelly Khumalo, whom one of the two men who entered the house had the gun pointed at.

He was shot through the chest but did not die on the scene, he was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Orlando Pirates held a press conference at Rand Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday October 27, 2014 at 11:00am; there Shakes Mashaba, Dr. Irvin Khoza, Kaizer Motaung, Dennis Mumble and Brand de Villiers all paid tribute to the slain goalkeeper.

Dr. Irvin Khoza was quoted saying “Senzo has been here since he was 13yrs old. And he has written his legacy in this club. He put us on the map around the world”

Dennis Mumble  “We extended a word of support to the family and the Club and players. We appealed to them all to be strong, for the sake of South Africa.”

Shakes Mashaba “Senzo was not just a goalkeeper. He was a peacemaker. That’s the biggest thing I remember about him.”

Brand de Villiers  “Out of respect for Senzo, the Derby match will not take place this weekend. We will communicate the logistics in due time”

Kaizer Motaung “It saddens me to be here this morning to share the grief that has befell the league, the Club & the country as a whole”.
