Luthando Shosha was born in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She grew up there, in the suburb of KwaMagxaki.

She went to Collegiate Girls High School in Port Elizabeth. After finishing matric, she went to study Interior Design at Design School Southern Africa (DSSA) in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Luthando Shosha did not write her final examinations for Interior Design at DSSA, this was after she ran into some financial troubles at which point she was asked by her mother to return home in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape.

When she returned home, her mother encouraged her to enter beauty pageant, an idea she was initially opposed to but later entertained and eventually entered the beauty pageant.

Following the beauty pageant, Shosha was among the girls who were picked to do promotions for a local company in Port Elizabeth. While doing promotions for that company she was recruited by an employee of Kingfisher FM to do a voice over for that radio station.

This marked the beginning of her career in the entertainment industry. She was invited to an orientation at the station for two weeks, towards the end of the orientation one of the DJs left the station leaving an opening for Luthando Shosha.

After having been at Kingfisher FM since 2009, in 2011 Shosha did a promo video for Urban Brew who, at the time, were starting a new community television station called Bay TV in Port Elizabeth. She had previously tried her luck on TV with Live presenter search in which the eventual winner was Minnie Dlamini as well as Top Billing presenter search which she also failed to win. This time however, when she had not auditioned, she was called by Bay TV and offered a job there.

In 2012, Luthando Shosha entered a Live Presenter search for the second until, a bit cautious this time around following the previous rejection. Although cautious, she carried with her an advantage she did not have before, she had experience. She auditioned for Live in front of celebrities, former Miss South Africa Teen, Zizo Beda and musician Generations star, Anga Makubalo. Shosha became the eventual winner of that Presenter search and broke into mainstream South African entertainment industry.

On May 18, 2012, she debuted on Live opposite Bonang Matheba, who at the time was already a ‘veteran’ on that show. After Shosha’s introduction, Matheba left the show, Shosha was joined by the YFM DJ, now 5FM, DJ Warras and later by Metro FM DJ and former RGB presenter Pearl Thusi.

In 2013, she was was a guest judge on SABC 1’s You Can Do It, hosted by Kwaito legend Arthur Mafokate. She was also a subject of an episode of Pearl Modiadie‘s Zaziwa. In 2014, Luthando Shosha was a backstage presenter on the 13th Annual Metro FM Music Awards. She was also a digital host of the 20th Annual South African Music Awards.
