Lungi Naidoo’s I am nominated at 13th Metro FM Awards

I am is Lungi Naidoo second album, it has been nominated for “Best R&B Album” in a voting category at the 13th Metro FM Music Awards which will take on the 1st March 2014 at the ICC in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

LN_IAMLungi Naidoo of the sensational “I will” returned to the studio to put together her second album titled I am with a lead single title “love”.

Naidoo is no stranger to the South African music industry, she boasts a career spanning years, she first made inroads as a backing vocalist for the likes of Loyiso Bala and the late Lebo Mathosa and appearances in some theatre productions.

She has since had her music enjoy some air time on radio across the country and shared the stage with some of South Africa’s legendary artists like Sibongile Khumalo and Judith Sephuma among others.

Describing her journey in the industry so far she said “My Journey has been a long but fruitful one”. She added,  “I have learn to be patient if I want to succeed, its hard but to be prominent and relevant you have to keep your head up even when your neck hurts”.

Describing her second album which was released in October last year, “it’s a true reflection of my personal and professional journey”. Naidoo said. The album features Brian Temba, Ihhashi Elimlophe, Proverb and Dgutta. On her Metro FM Music Award nomination “Being nominated for the Best RnB Award is humbling and super exciting”.

Naidoo is also a philanthropy, she runs a Not for Profit organization (NPO) which she founded, The Lungi Foundation  works with 20 schools in KwaZulu Natal, it provides food, school uniforms, stationery  and text books to children that go to under privileged schools.

Naidoo concluded by imploring her followers and good music lovers to vote for her, insisting the her win is purely based on votes.
