Lulu Dikana has died aged 35

South African Jazz singer Lulu Dikana died in hospital on Wednesday night of December 4, 2014 after short illness. Lulu Dikana is the older sister of famed singer and songwriter Zonke Dikana.Google+

Lulu DikanaThe news of her death first surfaced on twitter which prompted media house to publish stories relating unconfirmed news of the death of Lulu Dikana.

It has since been confirmed that Lulu Dikana has died “It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected and tragic loss of soul songstress Lulu Dikana who passed away last night [Wednesday] after a short illness while being treated in hospital,” Sound African recordings said in a statement on behalf of her family.

“Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and all her fans who came to know and love her through her music.” the statement read.

Lulu Dikana was scheduled to perform on Skyroomlive tomorrow Friday December 5, 2014 but had to cancel due to illness “We’re disappointed to announce that @luludikana will not perform on Friday at @VirginMobileSA #SRL #UrbanSessions due to illness” Skyroomlive tweeted.

“@SonyMusicAfrica & @SoundAfrican regret to inform @luludikana‘s performance @skyroomlive on 5 Dec cancelled”  Sound African also tweeted.
