One e-mail and a 45-minute chat later, she found herself given the opportunity of a lifetime by a producer who saw potential, and immersed in training and in a recording booth.
What stood her in her in good stead, was a BA degree, and Honours in English from University of Western Cape (UWC), starting out  in their marketing and recruitment department, visiting hundreds of schools raising awareness, urging youngsters to take up the challenge to study.

In an interview she said “I learnt how to talk in front of many on stage,” she recalls. “It was unnerving but I was passionate in spreading the message that you can move beyond your circumstances, become part of a world beyond your expectations.”
