Gordon Igesund is walking around with a bag of threes in the 2014 Absa Premiership as he continues to announce his return after two years at the helm of Bafana Bafana.

Gordon Igesund Supersport United CoachSAFA did not renew Gordon Igesund’s contract after he failed to meet the goals set before him, including qualifying for the 2014 Fifa World Cup which was held in Brazil in June through July of 2014.

Gordon Igesund was replaced with Shakes Mashaba as head coach of Bafana Bafana, shortly after he joined Supersport United who had crept up to the abyss under the leadership of former Platinum Stars mentor Cavin Johnson.

In his first match, Gordon Igesund reminded everyone why he was the Premier Soccer League mastermind coach; he pinned Platinum Stars 3-1 and downplayed the victory.

He followed up that victory with another one, Supersport United defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 3-0 and made 6 goals in two matches for Gordon Igesund.

The 2014 Absa Premiership took a brief break to make way for the 2014 Telkom Knockout where Supersport United edged out Free State Stars by a a goal which was enough to see them progress to the last 8.

After an international break, the 2014 Absa Premiership returned and Gordon Igesund picked up where he left off – he led Supersport United on hi first away match in a Pretoria Derby against the University of Pretoria – he trounced them 3-0 and made in 9 goals in three Absa Premiership matches.

Gordon Igesund is undoubtedly an interesting twist to the 2014/15 PSL season.
