Eric Tinkler Seemingly Clueless About Kermit Erasmus

Eric Tinkler is seemingly clueless about Kermit Erasmus and his reported move to League 1 French side, Stade Rennais F.C.. The Orlando Pirates coach was quoted by the Official PSL Twitter account saying, “Erasmus said he was going 2 attend a family matter in Holland and then this happens. We will comment tomorrow.”Google+

Kermit Erasmus Stade Rennais - RennesThis is after reports emerged that Kermit Erasmus, who has long been Eric Tinkler’s number one choice in the striking department at Orlando Pirates, has signed with Stade Rennais. During a 2016 Nedbank Cup draw held at Nedbank Head Office in Sandton the PSL official Twitter account tweeted Eric Tinkler indicating that he had no knowledge of Kermit Erasmus leaving the club.

The BBC website reported “South African striker Kermit Erasmus has joined Rennes from Orlando Pirates, the French side said on its website. Rennes revealed the 25-year-old has signed a contract with the Ligue 1 side for two-and-a-half years.”

His (Kermit Erasmus) move comes just days ahead of the Soweto Derby which is scheduled to take place on Saturday of January 30, 2016. Furthermore this may help revive the career of troubled striker Lehlohonolo Majoro who despite making a significant impact at Orlando Pirates has never been Eric Tinkler’s choice.

Lehlohonolo Majoro, a major fan favourite, has languished in the shadow of Kermit Erasmus for the better part of this season – this in the face of a string of poor results. Kermit Erasmus has been the first choice for as long as he has been at Orlando Pirates with Thamsanqa Gabuza enjoying a career revival ahead of former Kaizer Chiefs star, Lehlohonolo Majoro.
