Argentina puts an end to Netherlands good run

Argentina puts an end to Netherlands good run at the 2014 Fifa World Cup at Arena de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil. Netherlands impressive run began with the humbling of world and European champions Spain by 5-1 at Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador.

ArgentinaArgentina have kept up thus far without any spectacular victories, they have done just enough to book a date with Germany in the final of the 2014 Fifa World Cup which will take place on Sunday, July 13 at Estádio do Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil who were bullied and trashed by Germany in the first semi-final will travel to Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha, Brasília where they will meet Netherlands for the third place play-off on Saturday July 12.

In the second semi-final, Netherlands who faced a Lionel Messi led Argentina appeared as if the inspiration of the early stages seemed to escape them as they played to a stalemate and the match had to be decided on penalties.

Netherlands failed to score their first and third penalties while Argentina scored their first four and that was enough for them to book a date with Germans to battle it out for the title of World Champions.
